Züri Fäscht 2010
The Züri Fäscht 2010 was a great success! The hosts estimated about two million visitors enjoyed this midsummers weekend from the 2nd through the 4th of July. Since 1979, Media Rent has been entrusted with the installation and operation of the official festival sound system. The fireworks on Friday and Saturday night were the highlight: The pyrotechnicians created spectacles, each lasting for a half hour, into the night sky, accompanied by recorded classical or pop music. We broadcasted the music to the millions of people through a sound system which included 300 decentralized loudspeakers and 5 PA-towers in a 10 kilometers area.
The stage in the Münsterhof offered concerts of various genres during the day. In the evenings, a Brazilian band gave the shows a hot, smoking Brazilian feeling. The numbers of the Züri Fäscht 2010 read as follows: 300 basic loudspeakers, 10 kilometers of loudspeaker cables, 100 kW of power for the broadcast around the lake basin, 2’000’000 visitors, 300’000 sausages, 200’000 grilled spits, 500’000 liters of mineral water and soft drinks, 300’000 liters of beer, cooled by 80 tons of ice…
